The inner sole is very cushiony and it feels like they'd allow for hours of comfortable walking. There is enough lift that those not used to wearing some heel might find it uncomfortable for prolonged wear. My only problem is that I have a developing bunion on my feet and crooked, flared out toes, worse on the right. My toes on the right feel cramped. The left boot fits like a dream. The leather is supremely soft and I think the boot will "give" to accommodate my foot. The boot does not come in a wide size. I have not decided if I am keeping them or not. Obviously, I can't comment on their comfort on actual use since I haven't worn them outside the house. I agree with the reviewer that this boot's supple leather would require some TLC (regular polishing). But any shoe worth wearing is worth taking care of (in my humble opinion). For anyone with normally shaped feet, this is the ideal marriage of style and comfort and is a great choice for anyone with slimmer calves.
